Pangbourne College is looking to recruit a Matron for our girls’ Boarding House aged 13-18.  Working alongside the Housemistress and Assistant Housemaster, you will be responsible for the supervision and care of all pupils in their Division.  You will need to have good interactive skills with the pupils, parents and guardians by being a good listener, flexible in outlook, reliable, warm and friendly in disposition, with sufficient sensitivity to demonstrate tact and diplomacy. 

As well as being responsible for the health, dress and general wellbeing of pupils, you will also be responsible for the housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and laundry.  Pangbourne College is well recognised for its excellent pastoral care and the Matron/Housekeeper is part of the outstanding team that puts safeguarding and pupil welfare at the forefront of their work.

Graduate Sports Assistant

We are looking to recruit a Graduate Sports Assistant to coach Hockey and Netball as main sports and be able to offer other sports ( Rugby, Football, Cricket and Tennis).  We welcome applications from graduates with degrees in all subjects, not just sports related. This role would suit someone who is looking for experience of working in a school with the possible aim of entering the teaching profession. The opportunity to study for a PGCE may be available following successful completion of the first year.

The Sports Assistant role will be managed by the Director of Sport.  Candidates will be expected to offer games coaching skills in Hockey, Netball,  Rugby, Football, Cricket and Tennis.

This is a fantastic opportunity that demands high levels of self-motivation, enthusiasm, commitment and the ability to actively encourage pupils to partake in a wide range of activities.  

Single (shared) accommodation can be provided. You will be expected to be involved in activities outside of timetabled lessons and sports sessions plus play a full part in the busy life of our boarding school, which will include two evenings per week and weekend duties. Terms are short, intense and holidays long so that batteries can be recharged.
