Over the last two years, our son has had a fantastic time in Pangbourne College. He met many great teachers and also made a lot of good friends. He felt the warmth like his second home, thanks to the care and support given to him by everyone. Even during the pandemic, with the strong support of the school, the mental health of all students was well protected.
Pangbourne is a modern, mixed day and boarding school with a multicultural community where pupils from all walks of life thrive. Everyone here finds a warm sense of belonging, regardless of where in the world they join us from.
Around 10% of Pangbourne pupils are international students, coming from over 12 different countries. This diverse backdrop benefits every single member of our community, enabling everyone to expand their world view and develop their cultural understanding - something which is vital for success in our increasingly interconnected world.
A Great British Education
There are many benefits associated with studying in the UK, even if it's just for 2-3 terms. Your child will become fully integrated into the British culture, working (and playing) alongside British pupils, as well as other students from all over the world. They will quickly become fluent English-speakers with the support of our fantastic Learning Support and EAL team.
Our location is perfect for exploring the British countryside and is within travelling distance of many historical towns and cities, including Bath, Oxford, Portsmouth, and of course our Capital City, London (only a 40 minute drive).
Sending your child to a boarding school in the UK is a big decision to make, but you can be rest assured that they will be provided with a high level of support. Pastoral care is of utmost importance to us: our pastoral team liaises closely with academic staff to nurture pupils and address their individual needs, and ‘Divisions’ (houses) create a family feel with a team of dedicated boarding staff on hand at all times. Pangbourne is a welcoming home away from home.
Our son Jan Niklas joined Lower Sixth in September with the intention of spending at two terms at Pangbourne College. Jan Niklas has settled in very well and enjoys his courses as well as life as a boarder very much. When he came home for Half Term he said it was like coming from one family and going home to another.
I joined Pangbourne in the Sixth Form and I honestly think my life has completely changed for the better. Pangbourne is a community where individuals are able to evolve and work on themselves. It’s a very healthy and supportive environment for pupils to grow up in and they take extreme measures when it comes to the wellbeing of their students.
Coming to a new school is not easy, especially when you do not know anybody, and I did not know a single person at Pangbourne! I was quite insecure when I joined, but Pangbourne really helped me get over that insecurity with their kindness and acceptance. From the first day I was feeling that I’m at home.
The biggest benefit of the Pangbourne boarding experience is the wide range of weekend activities available for all boarders. Our programme encourages every pupil to try out new activities on and off campus, enabling them to explore their surroundings as well as develop their interests, or even discover new ones.
