Drama

Just before the Lent Half Term break, on the first Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings of February, Pangbourne College’s Drama Department presented Bryony Lavey’s adaptation, with script published by Samuel French, of Robert Louis Stevenson’s well-known classic, 'Treasure Island.

Directed by our Head of Drama, Ms Rebecca Atack, this gripping adventure story included music written specifically for our production.

Jim Hawkins, played by Darcy Pollard (Year 10, Illawarra), set off on her perilous quest for buried treasure. With the ‘support’ of cunning Long John Silver, portrayed by James Hall (Year 10, Port Jackson), Jim navigated treacherous waters, battled pirates, and learned important lessons about bravery and loyalty.

Set against a backdrop of the high seas, the play, inspired by the novel, was a reminder of why this timeless tale of adventure and intrigue has enthralled generations.
