Pangbourne hosts another successful Easter rowing training camp

Co-Curricular Sixth Form

All year group squads were able to enjoy an excellent Easter training camp week at Pangbourne during the second week of the Easter holidays.

The younger squads spent really valuable time in small boats, working on sculling and rowing technique and making very good progress. The Senior Squad trained for six full days, most of whom completed nearly 200km of rowing in the process. Particular excitement came this year with the arrival of the new 1st VIII boat, which looks to be an excellent addition to the College fleet.

Richard Follett, Director of Rowing said "It has been really good to see all the rowers enjoying their time on the water together this week. Although the seniors would normally be training in Belgium for their camp, we are so fortunate to have such an excellent home stretch of river on which to train. This has meant the younger rowers have seen just how much commitment is shown by the older rowers, and I am sure this will be an inspiration for future years.

We are looking forward to hosting some private rowing fixtures with other schools in the term ahead, before the restarting of regattas from the end of May. It is great to be looking forward to exciting times again on the water in the coming months!"
