Co-Curricular Competition

Twelve pupils participated in the National Independent Schools Clay Shooting Championships at the prestigious Holland & Holland Ground last week. During the Lent Term, these pupils took part in Shooting during their Activities period.

Each stand required speed and accuracy to hit the clays which were flying in a variety of different heights and directions. There was also a team ‘flush’ event which saw all team members shooting at 80 clays over a period of 2 minutes with the collective score counting.

Pangbourne's A team of Archie, Archie, Nathan and Ben performed creditably, finishing in 19th place, with the B and C teams finishing in 22nd and 28th place respectively. The C team of Robbie, James, Ed and Bertie also performed extremely well in the team flush event, hitting 61 of the 80 clays to finish in 14th place. Well done, Team Pangbourne!
