The Lower Sixth 2-Day Careers Event (Thursday 9 and Tuesday 14 June) provided students with several insightful lessons.
During Day 1, Old Pangbournian, Rhodri Lewis visited the College to shine light on how best to prepare effectively for job interviews and how to make the most of LinkedIn.
Day 2 saw many members of the wider Pangbourne community come together to share even more wisdom with the Lower Sixth. Parents, past parents, Old Pangbournians, and other friends of the College created an ‘Interview Team’ who interviewed the pupils. They were interviewed in a 'carousel' style where pupils alternated between different individuals.
This was a hugely beneficial event for the Lower Sixth as they were put through their paces and given the opportunity to present themselves to unfamiliar faces, preparing them for life after Pangbourne.
Head of Sixth Form, Mr James Bamforth, commented on the success of the event: “We hope the experience will further encourage our students to go for work experience and work shadowing opportunities over the coming months. Thank you so much to all our interviewers for the time they gave that day and also for the valuable feedback.”
