On a glorious, autumnal Remembrance Sunday afternoon, for the first time since 2019, the roads were closed for the parade of uniform organisations such as Scouts, the Police, and Royal British Legion, through Pangbourne village.

This year's Drum Major, Oscar, led the Marching Band from the Police Station to the Parish Church of St James the Less for the laying of the wreaths around the War Memorial in the churchyard. Among the wreaths laid was one by former Drum Major, James Blandy for The Royal British Legion.

At the Service of Remembrance, our Marching Band led the singing from the choir stalls and Felix played the Last Post.

With the uniform organisations in tow, the Marching Band led the uniform organisations from the church back to the St George Hotel, where the parade ended in front of the Co-Op.

Local residents, families, and friends lined the streets as the Band played pieces such as 'Oh When The Saints', 'Heart of Oak', and 'This is My Country'. The afternoon ended brilliantly with the Drum Corps playing ‘Roxy’. 

Many commented how wonderful it was to have the Marching Band, once again, leading the way at this very special and important commemorative event.
