Community Charity Event

In light of recent events, Pangbourne College held a non-uniform day on Monday 7 March to raise money in support of UNICEF’s work in Ukraine. Both pupils and staff were encouraged to donate £5 to the important cause.

The day started with a service in the Chapel. The Head, Mr Thomas Garnier, referred to the heart, character, and leadership in his sermon. There was a particular reference to ‘What kind of ruler do you want?’ and the choice of David as King of Israel after Saul.

It was extremely heartwarming to see the Pangbourne community come together once again to provide support to Ukraine. Altogether, the College has raised an incredible £3,315.

Further support from the Pangbourne community continued, as Illawarra pupils, Josie and Erika, initiated a shoebox appeal. The boxes included a range of necessities from blankets, sleeping bags, toiletries and even first aid supplies. Donations piled in from pupils, staff and parents and the boxes were collected on Friday 18 March.
