Students at Pangbourne are celebrating their A Level and BTEC exam results today, after two years of hard work and determination.  Their endeavours have culminated in some of the most impressive results for several years, with a 100% pass rate in all subjects and 62% securing A*-B grades or their equivalent. At least one A* or A grade was achieved in 28 different subjects, demonstrating the breadth of success.

Pangbourne prides itself on nurturing and supporting every pupil to flourish, both academically and personally, and the many examples of personal achievement today are testament to that reality.

As a result of their endeavours, the large majority of student leavers will be progressing on to higher education, with 66% of students securing their first choice university, and places at top tier institutions including Durham University, the University of Exeter and the University of Nottingham.

Senior Scholar, Ollie, is celebrating having achieved top grades in A Level Maths (A*), Further Maths (A), Physics (A), and Computer Science (A) to add to his A* EPQ completed in his L6 year. He will be progressing to study Computer Science at University of Bath.

Another Senior Scholar, Eva, has won her place to study Medicine at the University of Southampton following her outstanding results in Biology (A*), Chemistry (A) and French (A) as well as an A* in her EPQ.

BTEC student, Will, achieved the highest grade possible of a double Distinction* in his BTEC Sport Diploma. Will delivered exemplary coursework and strong exam results which also saw him achieve another Distinction in his BTEC Art and Design. He will be going to the University of Bath to study Sport Management and Coaching.

The Head, Thomas Garnier, commented: “I am immensely proud of the hard work and dedication the students have shown to their Sixth Form studies over the past two years and this has reflected in today’s wonderful results. I wish them all every success in their chosen next steps, and much joy and fulfilment in their future after Pangbourne."

Deputy Head Academic, Mark Seccombe, added: “There are a significant number of pupils in this year group who have shown the value of a positive work ethic and careful reflection on how to improve their learning. They should be very proud of the work they have produced. These results also reflect the expertise and care of our teachers in supporting pupils to achieve at a high level across our wide range of Sixth Form subjects.”
