About me:
Prior to teaching I had a professional career as a freelance artist and designer, working within the film and television sector. My passion for the subject brought me into teaching and I have since completed a Masters degree with a distinction in Fine Art. I have taught in a range of settings ranging from degree and A level to KS3 across mainstream schools, colleges and universities. Beyond teaching I am a practicing artist. I enjoy water sports including wakeboarding and kayaking as well as hiking and competing in OCR races.
Why do I love teaching Photography, Art and Design?
The intrinsic and permeable nature of art within our culture.
My other roles at Pangbourne are...
Year 9 tutor, CCF
If I hadn't been a teacher I would have been...
A Royal Marine Commando
My role model is...
I was lucky enough to have an inspiring art teacher who guided me through my initial journey into the arts. Following this, I was trained by Production Designer and Art Director, Terry Ackland Snow, who supported me through my early career. Both individuals encouraged me to raise the aspirations I had for myself and always held me to account to reach for them.
I would describe Pangbourne as...
From my first interview I could see the pride pupils and staff displayed for their school. I felt the warmth and community of those around me and the overwhelming drive to explore and achieve.
