About me:
I left Pangbourne as a pupil in 2017 and went on to study Sport Rehabilitation at UWE Bristol. Throughout, I have been a keen rower competing at both Henley Royal Regatta and the Home International Regatta for Wales. I returned to Pangbourne in 2021 as Rower in Residence and went on to do my Secondary PGCE and become AHoM 2022-2023 in Illawarra. In 2023 I decided to further my academic subject knowledge and studied for my Masters in Psychological Sciences at Brunel University, London. I am excited to return to Pangbourne in my new role as Head of Psychology in 2024 and continue to get stuck in the rowing!
Why do I love teaching Psychology?
Psychology is the study of the human brain and the behaviour or decisions that arise as a result. It underpins all we do as a species and is so multifaceted, it can be applied to many modern ideas, even Netflix shows. The conversations that arise around topics such as memory, attachment, and forensic psychology are so fascinating and I love seeing the puzzle pieces slot into place for the students!
My other role(s) at Pangbourne are:
In addition to Head of Psychology, I am also a rowing coach.
I would describe Pangbourne as:
Having seen Pangbourne from both sides as both a pupil and a staff member, the community is something that continues to impress. Everyone is so welcoming and generous, you can't walk between buildings without having a lovely chat!
