About Me

I have lived around the world, both with family in the United States and in France and the Dominican Republic independently. I have visited nearly 30 countries and this is where I discovered my passion for languages and experiencing new cultures. I studied French and Spanish at the University of Portsmouth where I spent most of my free time in the sea. After university, I began teaching in 2022 at Brockhurst and Marlston House Schools to share my love of languages with pupils.

Why do I love teaching?

When I lived in the United States, languages weren’t taught at my school. Upon returning to England in Year 8, I started learning French and Spanish. They quickly became my favourite subjects and I was determined to reach the same level as my peers, who had been studying the two since Year 3. I asked my Father to bring back Spanish and French magazines from his travels and I started to watch foreign programmes and films.

If I hadn't been a teacher I would have been...

An interpreter

My role model is...

My Year 8 French teacher inspired be to become a teacher through her dedication. She gave up many lunch and break times to help me with French and instilled the same passion she has for languages, in me. I strive to do the same for my pupils.

I would describe Pangbourne as...

From my first interactions with staff and students it was clear that Pangbourne College was different to other schools. The culture and atmosphere made me feel at home. Pupils were academically curious and willing to give their all in lessons. Staff were welcoming, supportive and full of pride.
