About me
Although I was born in South Africa, I have lived in the UK with my family for 24 years. I trained to teach at the University of Natal in Pietermaritzburg and moved to Namibia with my husband in 1989. Although I have not taught a great deal, I have always worked in schools, finding my comfort zone in the support side of education. My hobbies include sewing and baking and I love to travel - especially to Africa. Namibia holds a special place in my heart and so is a top destination when travel is on the cards! I enjoy nothing more than sitting at a waterhole in Etosha National park, taking in the sights, sounds and smells of the bush. A simple but awesome experience.
I love my role because...
I really enjoy talking to families about what Pangbourne College can offer their child and working alongside them on their journey to starting at the College. It is such a privilege to be part of such an important part of a child's life.
My role model is...
I usually find myself referring back to conversations with my father - he was a Housemaster at an independent school when I was growing up and Head of The Language Laboratory at the University of Natal in South Africa. Apart from his working life though, he was wise in many ways.
I would describe Pangbourne as...
A warm, nurturing school that provides a good 'all round' education for all its pupils. An environment that allows each individual to flourish and grow in areas unique to them.
