Meet Old Pangbournian Ryne Robson who joined Pangbourne in Year 9 in 2017.

Describe your role as a Design Technology Scholar...

The main part of my role was being an advocate for the subject, both in class and around the College. If people asked for, needed help in lessons, or if they had any questions about a project, I was there to help.

What life skills did this role teach you?

Definitely management, especially time management, by having to stick to strict deadlines and working towards them effectively. I'd also say thinking outside the box when it comes to problem-solving.

How did the College help you to develop as an individual?

The College helped me to develop by allowing me to do things that I enjoy, such as music, Choir and Marching Band. It helped me to academically improve and also developed my rowing throughout the years.

What are your Pangbourne highlights?

My Pangbourne highlights would definitely be in rowing and being appointed Captain of Boats. As well as this, rowing at Henley Royal Regatta and also being invited to GB Junior trials.

What did you find most challenging during your time at the College?

The pandemic was very challenging as I missed out on a lot of opportunities throughout that year.

How did you overcome these challenges?

Once we were able to return back to the College I made the most of every opportunity that came my way.

What makes Pangbourne unique?

The long-standing traditions, such as College Sundays.

What are your plans for life after Pangbourne?

I'm planning on studying Accounting and Finance at university, while also rowing with the aim of competing internationally for GB.
