About me...
Originally from the Eden Valley in Cumbria, I trained at Lancaster University as a conductor, composer, and singer. Before moving to Pangbourne, I spent fifteen years teaching in the maintained sector, as Director of Music in two schools and then as Assistant Headteacher. Outside of school, I continue to practise as a conductor and composer, I serve on the management team for the charity, sing for pleasure, I am a trustee and Director of Music for the Morland Choristers’ Camp, and I am a former President of the Music Teachers’ Association.
Why do I love teaching Music?
Some amazing teachers and other supportive adults opened my eyes to the possibilities available to me in music, introducing me to worlds far beyond my immediate field of vision. I aim to do the same for the pupils in my care.
My other roles at Pangbourne are...
Sixth Form tutor
If I hadn't been a teacher, I would have been...
A musician of some kind, most likely conducting and composing.
