About me

Having been a student at Pangbourne College (98-03), I headed off to Cardiff University where I read Marine Geography. Following this, I spent time working for an insurance broker in South Wales before taking the plunge into teaching. Having taught for a couple of years in South Wales I returned to Pangbourne College in 2013 to teach geography. During my time here I have headed up the Rugby Club, led the EPQ department and coached various sports. In 2017 I moved into Macquarie as the Housemaster.

Why do I love teaching Geography?

I enjoy the diversity on our planet and engaging the students with real life information that makes them more interested with what is going on around them.

My other roles at Pangbourne are:

  • Housemaster
  • Sports Coach

If I hadn't been a teacher I would have been...

Originally, I left school with an RAF scholarship and a desire to fly fast jets, however, a knee injury put an end to my dream. I'm also a qualified plumber and rugby referee so I have a wide range of skills away from teaching.

I would describe Pangbourne as...

a community which is a great place to work and live. Raising a family within a boarding house certainly allows me to see every side of each pupil in my care. They each have unique qualities as well as areas of strengths and weaknesses. Being a small school allows us to work closely with each of them to further improve the former and work on the latter.
