About me

After leaving University, I worked in Recruitment Advertising in London and San Francisco for six years before retraining to become a teacher. Returning to work after pausing to have my three children, I focused on individual teaching, completing the OCR Level 5 Diploma in Teaching with SpLD before joining the College in 2019. Family life certainly influences my free time at the moment, but I particularly enjoy our family holidays in Scilly and Pembrokeshire; walking our dog and playing tennis with friends, as well as just being at home.

I love my role because...

It is a privilege to work with pupils on a one-to-one basis - there’s a luxury of knowing we can take our time to go over topics; reinforce understanding through methods specific to individual needs and most importantly, a chance to build self-esteem to take back into the classroom.

If I hadn't been a teacher I would have been...

Good question, but I think if I had my time again I would like to have done a short stint in the Army.

I would describe Pangbourne as...

a large open window of opportunity, all underpinned by the Flag Values from which to guide you and further supported by a family of staff to nurture, inspire and teach you.
