About me
After a degree from Oxford, I worked for five years at MAFF, in the field of Toxicology. After that, I moved to Prague to teach, returning to the UK in 1996. I moved to Pangbourne in 1999.
Why do I love teaching Chemistry?
Chemistry has a beautiful logic to it.
My other roles at Pangbourne are:
- Sixth Form Tutor
- Rowing coach
If I hadn't been a teacher I would have been...
Research Scientist
My role model is...
Two figures: the composer Bela Bartok, who ploughed his own furrow, unaffected by trends and short-term fads; and the former Czech President, Vaclav Havel, who always stood for what he believed was right. Both in their own ways are the most inspiring public figures I have come across.
I would describe Pangbourne as...
a school that produces decent individuals.
